Theatre Outré is proud announce the appointment of Deonie Hudson as Interim Artistic Director while our Artistic Director, Jay Whitehead, takes a temporary break from his duties with the company. Hudson has been with the company for more than half of its existence, starting as an intern with the company and later becoming our Resident Designer.

She has helped create and stage Outré shows including The Princess Show, Confessional, A Streetcar Named Desire, Tab & Landon, 333, Late Company and countless others. Hudson has been working in theatre for more than 17 years where she has filled a variety of roles. She also worked on the technical end of numerous touring shows such as Cats, Riverdance, Alice Cooper, Nickleback, Elton John, Motley Crue and many more. She has also directed several stage shows including Blood Relations, the Canadian premier of Starchild, Hairspray and Peter Pan. She also has an extensive background in costume design and construction which can regularly be seen at various Comic Conventions. We hope you’ll join us in wishing Deonie well in her new position as Theatre Outré continues to celebrate 10-years of Queering Southern Alberta and beyond!
